Kyle Lick Gets Two Chances To Score Long Overdue Indoor Auto Racing Series TQ Midget Victory Inside Allentown’s PPL Center
Allentown, PA – With a lifetime of experience racing Micro Sprints, Midgets and Sprint cars, 34-year-old Kyle Lick of Lehighton, PA has been a long-time entrant in the Indoor Auto Racing Series events without scoring a TQ Midget A-Main victory. When he heads to the season opener presented by Ironton Global Cloud Phone inside Allentown, PA’s PPL Center on January 5th and 6th, Lick will get two chances to do so.
Through the 2022 Series, Lick had fought the good fight, racing a 600cc Micro competitively against the more powerful 750cc TQ Midgets. For the 2023 he parked the Micro and bought a used TQ Midget chassis. While Lick still didn’t score an outright A-Main victory, he qualified easily and was in serious contention for top finishes in all races.
With one year of experience with the car, Lick enters his hometown race in Allentown with high hopes of a first ever TQ win in Friday’s 30-lap feature and a second in Saturday’s 40 lapper. Should he pull off the sweep and accept the Ironton Auto Body challenge it would be worth $10,000 for his family owned team.
One driver who may stand in Lick’s way regardless how well he runs is Anthony Sesely. The 2023 series champion from Matawan, N.J., who won at Allentown and later in the month inside Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall.
The eighth running of the Allentown event, will feature three divisions of racing among 100 cars: TQ Midgets, Slingshots and Champ Karts with qualifying races and main events both nights.
Friday’s events, sponsored by BELFOR Property Restoration begins on Friday night at 7:30 PM with doors opening one hour earlier.
Saturday’s racing, sponsored by Future Homes, fires up at 7 PM. Fans who purchase 100 level reserved seats, will be allowed on to the arena floor racing level through the Air Products gate located at 7th and Linden Street at 5 PM to look at the cars up closely, meet and greet all the drivers before the event. All other gates will open at 6pm.
Tickets are on sale, online at PPLCenter.com or at the Box Office daily including the days of the event. New this year is a Friday/ Saturday Combo Ticket and a Friday night a lower level family section with Adult tickets starting at just $20 and Kids $5.
For race fans who cannot make the trip to get the best experience at the event, quality DTD-TV pay-per-view will be available for both nights on the web at dirttrackdigest.tv.
After the Allentown races, the chase for the Indoor Series championship will head to Atlantic City, NJ January 26 and 27 at Boardwalk Hall for the 22nd running of the NAPA Auto Parts Atlantic City Indoor Races.
The indoor series ends with the BELFOR East Coast Dirt Nationals at the Trenton, N.J. Cure Insurance Arena on February 23 and 24th.
