Eighteen hours after winning TQ Midget Indoor Auto Racing 20-lap feature events at Trenton, N.J.’s Sun National Bank Center on Friday night, Ted Christopher, Erick Rudolph and Ryan Flores are poised to win the main event of the Len Sammons Motorsports Productions weekend – the 40-lap Battle Of Trenton feature.

Christopher, Rudolph and Flores can expect challenges to bids from Jimmy Blewett, who heads into Saturday’s race with the Indoor Auto Racing Series Presented By VP Race Fuels point standings, based on his overall performance in Friday’s time trials, heat race finish and second place feature ride.

The fastest time in Friday’s sessions that set the starting lineups for the TQ Triple Twenties was set by Scott Kreutter, who is a dirt track specialist in his native Buffalo, N.Y. area. He is entered in the Battle Of Trenton as a teammate of heat race winner Christopher.

Jonathan Reid and his team managed to attain a ‘loaner’ engine to replace the one that exploded in a fireball Friday night when Reid was leading the first TQ Midget 20-lap race. Rich Talarico, owner of the car driven by Joey Payne, offered Reid his spare engine which Reid and his crew finished installing Saturday mid-morning.

In addition to the TQ Midgets, Slingshots, three dozen of them, will be competing for the first time this weekend with qualifying races to determine the 24 starters for the 20-lap main event.
Spectators who arrive close to the 5:00 PM gate opening time Saturday will be invited to attend the Battle Of Trenton Fan Fest, an interactive experience that features all of the competitors and their cars at trackside. Autograph signings, photo ops and the chance to meet the stars of the weekend are all part of the Fan Fest pre-race activities.

Racing starts at 7:00 PM with TQ and Slingshot heat races, consolation events, Slingshot feature and the climactic Battle Of Trenton TQ Midget 40 lap main event.
