Indoor Auto Racing Series Championship Car Owner, Jeff Ulrich, Dies in Tragic Accident

Jeff Ulrich, 49, of Middleport, N.Y., a prominent Indoor Auto Racing Series championship car owner, tragically lost his life in a pedestrian motor vehicle accident in Bordentown, N.J., on Friday, February 21. Ulrich had been attending the East Coast Indoor Dirt Nationals at the CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton, N.J.

He is survived by his wife, Kelly, and children, Colleen and Christopher. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, March 2, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, located at 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 3, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Interment will follow at Cold Springs Cemetery.

A retired asphalt Modified driver from Western N.Y., Ulrich later became an innovative TQ Midget car builder and owner, working with drivers Anthony Sesely and Tanner VanDoren in recent years. Since entering the Indoor Series in 2022, Ulrich, under the PK Racing banner alongside Rick Kluth, guided Sesely and VanDoren to four wins in Allentown, PA; Atlantic City, NJ; and Syracuse, NY. This included victories in the 2023 Gambler’s Classic and the 2023 TQ Midget Championship.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
