Top 10 Drivers Can Earn More By Starting Further Back In Friday Feature at Trenton Dirt Nationals
Trenton, NJ – A unique opportunity for increased earnings will be introduced at the East Coast Indoor Dirt Nationals presented by BELFOR Property Restoration, taking place on February 21st and 22nd, 2025, at Trenton, NJ’s CURE Insurance Arena. In a departure from traditional race strategy, wingless 600 Sprint drivers will have the chance to earn more money by starting further back in the feature race.
For this year’s 30-lap feature on Friday, February 21st, the top ten drivers who qualify for a redraw will be asked to choose their starting positions, but with a twist: the higher the starting position they select, the larger their bonus will be if they win.
The driver with the highest points from qualifying will have the first choice of starting positions from one to ten, and the bonus increases with each spot further back.
The driver who picks tenth and wins will earn a $2,500 bonus. Drivers who select positions between the pole and tenth will also see an increasing payout, with $250 added for each position further back. For example, choosing fifth place earns a $1250 bonus, and picking ninth results in a $2,250 bonus.
The question will be how confident is the driver and how much money do they want to earn?
“This program will add another wrinkle to Friday night’s program and offer drivers an opportunity to win more prize money in the process,” stated promoter Dan Sammons. “We did a similar program at our event in Allentown, for Trenton we are changing it up a little and giving each of the 10 drivers the choice to pick where they start. The further back you start, the more money you make!”
Regardless of where they start, the top five finishers and the next five drivers who have accumulated the most points throughout the night will automatically qualify for the 40-lap A-Main on Saturday, bypassing the E, D, C, and B-Mains that other competitors must race through to advance.
The Friday format introduces an additional layer of strategy, as winning from the back of the field has proven to be achievable at the Trenton Dirt Nationals. Jon Keller won the 2020 Saturday night main event after starting last in the E-Main. He transfered in four qualifiers to make the A-Main, started last and won it!
Last year’s winner Anthony Perrego, qualified out of the B-Main, started 11th and won it!
The Friday night “Get Dirty” starting spot promotion offers a unique sponsorship opportunity with great benefits. For a $250 sponsorship, companies will have their name associated with one of the ten starting positions, and in return, will receive 20 tickets to Friday’s event, a banner displayed around the raceway throughout the weekend, and recognition in the official program and over the public address system.

With event limited to 90 entries, the 7th Annual East Coast Indoor Dirt Nationals has already attracted over 80 confirmed wingless 600 Sprint drivers a month prior to the event.
Tickets are available for purchase via Ticketmaster or the arena box office. Limited premium suite seating is also availability by contacting the arena directly.
