The Sammons’ promoted 38th annual Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports 2024 show will be held two weeks later on January 19 and 20 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.
The 22nd running of the NAPA Auto Parts Atlantic City Race Weekend follows the last weekend in January. This event will again feature the Gambler’s Classic for the TQ Midgets on Saturday along with feature events for the Slingshots and Champ Karts on Saturday night.
Details regarding special plans for Friday night events in Atlantic City will be announced in the coming months along with a revised schedule.
“Racing at the two concrete events last year was off the charts,” said Len Sammons.
“The racing has never been better with an enhanced outside groove providing some of the best racing you’ll find indoors or outdoors.”
Anthony Sesely of Matawan, N.Y. was crowned the series champion after two wins and a second-place finish. Sesely was the Atlantic City Gambler’s Classic winner after accepting a pre-race challenge to start at the back of the invert.
Dates have been confirmed for the 5th East Coast Indoor Dirt Nationals. This event featuring the wingless 600 Sprints will return to the CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton, NJ on Friday and Saturday, February 23rd and 24th. BELFOR Property Restoration has renewed to again be the title sponsor of the event.
“After being off for two years because of Covid-19, the dirt race was an awesome show never to be forgotten,” said Sammons proudly.
“Race winner Timmy Buckwalter rebounded from going to the rear on lap 12 of the 50 lap feature after an early race spin to win the race!”
A new star was born when 18-year-old Adrianna Dellaponti, won the hearts of the big crowd on hand. After becoming the first female to qualify for the race in the B-Main, the Norristown, PA driver advanced from a 19th starting spot to second late in the A-Main. She then ran down a big lead Buckwalter had enjoyed while he fought lap traffic.
“Had the third and final yellow not been waved with three laps left, she might have won the $5,000 to win race,” said Sammons.
“She was just making her move at the time. She then fought Billy Pauch Jr. hard to keep second, only to lose it to him on the final corner. A star was born that night, she won the hearts of the fans.”
The Concrete Series remains in conversations with the management of the Exposition Center on the New York State Fairgrounds regarding a March of 2024 date. A 2023 race weekend was not scheduled due to a building issues which forced a number of other to be canceled as well.  It is with great hope these issues are resolved, so that the Indoor Racing Series can return for the 2024 season.
