Atlantic City, NJ (Thursday, Jan. 29) – Anticipation for the NAPA Auto Parts Atlantic City Indoor Races grew Thursday night as cars took to the speedway for the first time during a sizzling four-hour practice session at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall.

Allentown, PA’s Briggs Danner showed blistering pace in the final session, rocketing his No. 78 around in 7.893 seconds to earn the top time of the day. Four-time Gambler’s Classic Andy Jankowiak was right on Danner’s heals as he ran an exceptional 7.973 second lap. USAC open wheel star Justin Grant (8.018), Ryan Flores (8.037) and Shawn Nye (8.044) completed the top five in the lighting quick last session.

Jeremy Haudricourt (9.265), Ryan Flores (9.248), and Kyle Lick (8.545) paced the brigade in sessions one, two and three, respectively.

In addition to the TQ Midgets’ practice, the Slingshots, Champ Karts and Dirt 600 Micros also hit the track to give fans a little taste of their high-energy action. Dustin Gagne, of Westport, Mass., stood out in the Champ Karts, whizzing around the speedway in 9.001 seconds for the fastest time. Dylan Cordier’s scorching 9.597 second lap in the final Slingshot practice lead that category, while Scott Kreutter’s red-hot lap of 8.479 seconds, topped the Micro division.

Grandstands open at 6 p.m. Friday with racing beginning at 7 p.m., along with a pre-race Fan Zone autograph session. On Saturday, the grandstands will open at 5 p.m., and fans with reserved seats will be allowed to access the on-track Fan Fest that runs until 6:15. Racing begins at 7 p.m.

Special autograph guests include NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Funny Car star Ron Capps, Top Fuel standout Maddi Gordon, the newly crowned Ms. Motorsports 2026, and every driver entered in competition.

Good seats are still available for purchase via Ticketmaster or at the Boardwalk Hall box office on the day of the event.
