Four Brothers From New York’s Catalano Family Heading To Allentown, PA In Search Of Indoor TQ Midget Series Opener Purse Money

Allentown, PA – Four brothers from New York’s Catalano family will be invading Allentown PA’s PPL Center on Friday and Saturday January 5th – 6th in search of prize money, trophies and family bragging rights at the Ironton Global Cloud Phone sponsored Indoor Auto Racing Series opener.

Tommy Catalano, the oldest of the four at age 26, is currently the most successful of the four who call Ontario, N.Y. home. Timmy Catalano, 24, was the first of the brothers to follow in Tommy’s footsteps in TQ Midget Indoor competition.

Tyler, 19, later joined the Indoor Series and last January in Atlantic City it was Trevor who made his TQ Midget debut after racing in the companion Champ Kart division.

In Allentown, the goal is for all four brothers to lock into the 24-car starting field for feature events slated for both Friday and Saturday night. With over 40 top drivers entered, it won’t be easy but they appear to be up to the task that would be one for the record books.

On Saturday night at Atlantic City’s NAPA Auto Parts Weekend last January, three of the four Catalano’s made the starting field, the first three members of a family to do so in the 25-year history of the series. Only the youngest, Trevor, in his TQ Midget debut failed to start the 40-lap feature.

While he’s yet to win on the Indoor TQ Midget circuit, Tommy has come close on several occasions. Just last year he came home third in the Allentown event and led the Gambler’s Classic on Friday night inside Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall until his motor failed him on a late race restart.

In Allentown, Tommy isn’t coming just to qualify, but to win not only his first on Friday but his second TQ Midget feature on Saturday. Thanks to a special Ironton Auto Body challenge in place, should Tommy win on Friday and agree to start 10th on Saturday and win again he would earn $10,000 for the weekend sweep.

The Catalano boys race as a family all season. This year Tommy, Trevor and Tyler will all compete on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour full-time. Timmy will travel with the team along with his father and mother Amy who has also competed on the NASCAR tour!

The eighth running of the Allentown event, will feature three divisions of racing: TQ Midgets, Slingshots and Champ Karts with qualifying races and main events both nights.

Friday’s events, sponsored by BELFOR Property Restoration begins on Friday night at 7:30 PM with doors opening one hour earlier. Saturday’s racing, sponsored by Future Homes, fires up at 7 PM.

Saturday’s annual Fan Fest, limited to fans who purchased 100 level seats, will offer a close up look of the race cars and a chance to meet the drivers before the racing begins. To gain access Fan Fest ticket holders must enter through the Air Products gate which opens at 5 PM at the corner of 7th and Linden. All other gates will open on Saturday at 6 PM.

Tickets are on sale, online at PPLCenter.com or at the Box Office daily including the days of the event. New this year is a Friday/ Saturday Combo Ticket and a Friday night a lower level family section with Adult tickets starting at just $20 and Kids $5.

For more information including links to purchase tickets, entry forms and book hotel rooms within walking distance of the center visit www.indoorautoracing.com.

For race fans who cannot make the trip to get the best experience at the event, quality DTD-TV pay-per-view will be available for both nights on the web at dirttrackdigest.tv.

After the Allentown races, the chase for the Indoor Series championship will head to Atlantic City, NJ January 26 and 27 at Boardwalk Hall for the 22nd running of the NAPA Auto Parts Atlantic City Indoor Races.

The indoor series ends with the East Coast Dirt Nationals at the Trenton, N.J. Cure Insurance Area where Buckwalter will be on hand to defend his 2023 victory on February 23 and 24th.
